Was far from ready to start...

I promised myself I would start work on obtaining a domain name and hosting servise for a simple website I plan to design. I thought my plan was pretty laid out and it was time to get things going. I got as far as setting up an account with a well known service that has both services available.
Now, hmmmm what should I name it? I went blank. What should have been an easy decision, turned into a gut wrenching ah, that looks good to no, I don't want that, debate in my head. Am I a .com or a.org?
I decided on a tentative name and moved on to hosting. The prices were not outrageous but I knew early on more research was needed. Natually, they try to sell you every bell and whistle they have laying around.
It is back to the drawing board. I have a feeling I will be continually posting on this topic

@Rondout50 So it's going to be a website about web design?

My plan is to design the website in the most simplest form. Keeping it an easy navigation experience for the user, then add a subscription service to a newsletter on how to keep your webpage a good experience for your reader.
This idea came out of an experience I had looking for inexpensive help in web design.

@TheHorse Without giving up the meat of my idea, yes, it will be a lay person's guide to design.

Small steps. I have learned to stop, sit back and re- think.

The choice of Domain name can be more difficult than we anticipate at first. I missed out on the obvious choices when .co.uk first began here in England, which would have been either my Christian or Surname.
Back in the old days I created several websites on various topics which I hosted on the popular free sites at the time. Since registering a .co.uk name I have never used it for anything other than storage, apart from using the email address.

Yes, because the name is also your brand.
