I was browsing the television, then it captured my attention that there is a festivity in Spain that will make you find strange. What makes it so strange? In their custom, they let the men to dress up as devils and jump over the infants as known as the “Baby Jumping Festival.” The elders believed that it is intended for infants’ protection from evil spirits. It also considered as a major holiday in Spain. It originated in the year 1620. The custom is strangely called “El Colacho”. At this point of time, there is not reported that babies were harmed. However, I still think that it could be not safe for the infants to be jumped over by men. It’s always better to be safe than sorry.

If they jump OVER them and don't contact them, it's probably safe. I wouldn't want my klutziest friends doing it over my baby, though.

@TheHorse I agree with you. It might be safe for the said event's mechanic. What if the place is so crowded with people, in some point, a person lost his balance and stumbled down to the infants. Anyway, it is the weirdest scenario that I am thinking right now.

@Shavkat Not a tradition I'd want to take part in. I love playing with babies. But I like a quiet and safe environment.

@TheHorse It is so ideal to have a safety precautions in taking good care of babies. It is one major concern I do when treating infant patients. I agree with you that we need to take concern for it.

That's new and interesting I don't think it would get any kudos in the states.

Indeed my dear friend, it is really an interesting festival. I guess we can just appreciated this more if we witness the actual event. We were been colonized by Spanish but there is no evident that we had this kind of festivity.
