a saturday of sun and fun

The weekly trip to the supermarket came with woe. An accident had closed the road and caused chaos in the little city. Honking horns, bewildered bystanders, and dangerous drivers filled the streets. But, much to Husband's delight, we arrived at Tesco. Bargains awaited us in the hallowed aisles. Tesco Finest flowers, reduced from £10 to £4. Salmon reduced from £6 to £3. Twenty pence off cottage cheese. Pork mince reduced from £2 to £1.50. Three for two! We were being rewarded for our long detoured driving adventure. Or, more realistically, it's January and we got there just as masses of food was reduced and put on the 'clearance' shelf. I scrubbed my house clean this afternoon. Dusting, polishing, scrubbing, sweeping, washing, swishing, wiping, teasing, sneezing, bleaching, moving, straightening ... there's something incredibly self-satisfying about creating a home you're proud to let people in to. Mummy and Me time was achieved when I phoned my Mumsy. She's off gallivanting to foreign lands {Norfolk} with her friends this week. I'm stuck at work. If my life is as full as hers when I reach seventy+ I shall be absolutely shattered and also slightly confused; I like my alone time and the shyly introverted OCD ADD mildly autistic person I am can think of nothing worse than the stress of living my Mumsy's life. Well, there are lots of worse things, but I was being all hyperbolicky, which is a word I still can't say. Sleepy, so sleepy. *yawns*

I went to Tesco today, but didn't see the bargains you mention. Must have got there too early.

We went at about one-ish. Usually the things they need to get rid of are reduced at about five, but for some reason they were earlier today.
