Do you always regret on doing something?

A friend told me she has regret to transfer her daughter to another kindergarten at the beginning of this year. She has been changing kindergarten for her daughter, and this is the third in the third year. I just suggested her to talk to the teacher and see if her problems will be solved. I knew this friend for a few years, and I have been hearing her regrets for several times. She was hoping something can happen, and things happened, she found that it wasn't as nice as she thought. I remember being told by my husband many years ago, not to do something that I will regret. He reminded me to think carefully before I do something. Though I agreed with him not to be regret, I always honor the decision I have made, and even though it doesn't turn out to be as nice, I will just try to fix it or make it better, but not feeling regret, as I always think regret doesn't help anything, but just make me feel sad. What about you? Do you always regret or just move on?

I have few regrets. Most of them are bottled up with my childhood and marriage. However, since my divorce 22 years ago, I don't have any regrets I can think of.

For the unhappy marriage, I can understand that. I think we do have made some not so wise choices in our life when we grow up, we learn from the lessons and move on. I think you have moved on from there and are now living happily, aren't you?

Three times in one year she changes kindergartens, what is wrong here? Regret I think she needs to think about what she is doing.

That's not three times in a year, but each year she changed once. I think it's always good for the kids to continue staying in the same school, unless something has happened. I guess some people are just not too determined on what they want to do. Hope she'll find a better way for her daughter soon.

@Marcyaz She has her reasons for doing so, though those reasons might not be valid to everyone. I thinks she just can't make up her mind. Moreover, it's just difficult or impossible to get a perfect school that meet all our criteria.

@kaka135 Who knows why she doesn't want her daughter to stay in the same school each year.

Life is a big puzzle and there are times when your judgement cannot be always 100% correct. So definitely, there are times when you realize that things might have been different in case you would have done it the other way round or even, may not have done it. But life taught me not not keep sulking over what has happened. I realized, the life is always about Good and Bad. The Bad - you have no control So I skip it, move on and enjoy what is there at the moment.

Yes, that's what I meant. Of course, we did make some not so wise choices, but we can certainly make a change, turn over, or move on. We learn the lessons from the choices we have made, but not just feel bad and do nothing. I am learning to always live in the moment, still learning.

Yes, that's what I mean to do. We might have made some not so wise decision, we'll learn from the lessons, and move on. I think we can either fix it or change the plan, but not just keep feeling sad about it and do nothing.

I guess we do get that feeling sometimes, but I just think we can also learn from the lesson and move on.
