My little one is sick

My husband was not well last week and after some trips to the hospital he is feeling better lately. Now my son is not well. The doctor has prescribed some medicines and asked us to check in after three days. He says such symptoms are common after heavy floods. (Chennai saw the worst rainfall and flooding recently after nearly a century). I'm scared about his illness. He is just three and I hate to see him go through medicines and injections.

It started with a fever and with so many post flood diseases on the prowl, I didn't want to take a chance. Thank God, its nothing serious. But anything to do with my kid makes me anxious.

Children will recover soon. So don't worry so much about it. Your son will be energetic again.

That is encouraging. He is a strong boy. But when I see my active kid bed ridden, it troubles me. Hoping for the best soon.

Sorry to hear about your little boy - it's hard for us mothers to see our children get sick. I hope he gets well soon.

hope he gets well soon, yes if there is one thing that really bothers me and make me lose concentration in my work is when the kids get sick when they were small, we do not get enough sleep watching over them. It's the same here, lots of diseases after a flood, it's good practice to separate young and elderly when somebody is sick in the family.

I tried to keep them away from each other. But these types of fevers are contagious even with minimum contact. I was in no mood to work either.

I hope he gets better soon and that you don't end up sick as well. It is really scary to see our babies in any other way but healthy and happy.

My in-laws too live with me. I'm scared about their health as well, as the elderly can't recuperate fast. Hoping they all get better soon.

How's your little boy now? We, mothers, go crazy when our babies/kids are sick. My baby just turned seven months and she had been in ER twice.

He is alright. May be we as mothers should cut a little bit down on anxiety about our children. But it seems impossible.

It is tough for a parent, especially for a mother, when they see their children suffering. When children suffer I subconsciously pray to pass on theirs to me - siva
