The List

On a piece of paper I made a list. It wasn't anything different than a normal piece of paper. Or so I thought. When I write a name it glows on the paper and then starts to fade, and then eventually goes away. It's always a different amount of time, but always disappears. It filled me with foreboding, but then I tried it out on a person in the public eye. When the person was supposed to be in concert, they canceled because they had grown ill. A few days later their condition had declined even further, and within a week they were knocking on death's door. It was then that I erased the nearly faded name and they made a miraculous recovery. I realized the power of The List. Now it's amazing how I have learned to use The List to get ahead in life. After all, they only think it's a joke at first, but then they realize that it's something much more horrible. It's so delightful! Whose name will I add next to The List, and what will they give me to be taken off? (Random horror story I thought of a few days ago for some people I wanted to be on that kind of list. They have redeemed themselves though. It kind of reminds me of Death Note, but without an immediate end.)
