Around a year back there was a fight between two youths near our home as one of the youth tried to snatch the money from other and this was well witnessed by other people around there. The residence authorities interfered and solved it, but the youth who tried to snatch the money gave a police complaint. Later we came to know the police have arrested the other and he was brutally manhandled. The victims parents gave another complaint to the Superintend of police but there were just mere talks as it was known that they were bribed. The case taken to magistrate and the court ordered to suspend the police officials and left the victim free. But unfortunately again the police officials called the victim to the station and took another complaint as he had manhandled them. Fortunately he had gone alone with his lawyer with him and with his father. As they did know the other personel was lawyer and now the case is going on in court. How come a normal citizen be secured in the those who have give protection turns to harmful. Wished those authorities should had taken strict disciplinary or other acts on protectors who are actual criminals.

@SHAMRACK they are the reason why lawlessness can't be stopped. These enforcers themselves are lawless and must be put to jail.

@SHAMRACK,How shameful !! The story you have narrated here is a glaring example of police-criminal nexus. Here in my own town also many such incidents have taken place.Money changed hands and protectors suddenly turned into dreaded criminals.

It is more of who you know than what you know that matters in certain countries. I have been amused when people talk of "I know him, so and so is my relative" etc. We have to step out of that mindset to to set things right. Democracy and freedom without rule of law is anarchy - siva
