A Family Dream

When I was working for a jewelry company, my title was "Recruiting Manager." I did not like that title because it insinuated that I was recruiting sales persons who really didn't want to be recruited. My preferred title was "Team Leader." I "recruited" over 700 persons.
I wanted to share with women and a few men that were interested, a way to earn money by working part time, at a fun business and being their own boss.
A few of the questions I always asked a potential sales person was: "If you could make one family or personal dream come true, what would it be?
Another question was: "Do you have money set aside for a family vacation this year?" and "Do you have an Emergency Fund in place, in case you lost your regular job or had a accident that prevented you from working?"
Almost always the answers were NO. Joining our company and selling the jewelry on a part time basis was a way to make some EXTRA money to take care of those things.
Everyone should have an Emergency Fund. Money should be set aside, JUST IT CASE. Even if its just a very small amount, some money, out of every paycheck, should be set aside for that.
What do you think?

Very smart thing to do. Everyone should do that. Some people right now are worried about their 401K accounts. I hope all that gets back to normal soon for my sons' sakes. They have other savings accounts but the market has been very unstable.

Absolutely. It is the most important to set aside some for emergencies.
Altho you did not like your title, man you did recruit some people huh?

I was a TOP recruiter and it earned for me a lot of FREE trips. That was my motivation but I was also interested in helping (mostly) women to earn some extra income and still be a stay-at-home MOM. I liked being at home all day for my children and then doing just a couple parties in the evenings each week and on Saturdays, while my husband was at home with the children.
I earned a full-time paycheck for working very part-time and I would recommend it to any woman I came in contact with. I was enthusiastic about what I did and I think that's what made me a good "recruiter."

@IreneVincent Yes, you have to have a certain appeal as well I feel, or it is impossible to recruit. I am so glad you did so well Alice. All credit due you.
