Is It The Right Time

I am currently looking for a new phone but I am also thinking if it's the right time for me to buy one. The last time I bought mine was in December of 2010.
My phone is still working but there are times its memory goes too low and the battery already drains too fast unlike before and the battery is non removable.
Other features still work fine and it is still smooth as new since it has a jelly case since day 1 and the screen is also protected eversince (with a tape -that is another story! Haha!) so I am still having second thoughts if I will replace it soon or wait for other models.
How often do you change your phone? I know others buy at least yearly or even more often. My phone turned 5 last December.

I have changed my phone only twice in my whole life.
If you feel like having a new phone and you have the financial backup, then why bother? Just buy a new one. But if the phone you have right now is working properly, you could gift it to someone else too.

But I can't give my old phone to anyone. It has a sentimental value. Hihihi! Yes, I am still thinking if I am going to buy one. Maybe I will delay it a bit so that the price of my preferred device will further go down.

@brokenbee I always have this feeling about something I like to buy and I wait for its price to be lower. What happens actually is when the price gets lower, a better thing, (say a phone with better configuration) will come up with the same price of the thing I am going to buy, when it launched on the market. So decide to get that thing and when its price get lower another thing comes up and I end up buying nothing, lol

@aju007 haha yes! They keep on releasing new phones with better specs, and that also makes it harder for me to choose. Haha

In this hard economy, it depends on money you can spare and your budget

Yes, that's true. And that is one of the reasons why there's some guilt if I will buy or not yet. Hmmmm

For several years now and i could not count anymore, I have not bought a new phone. My old was replaced when my son gave me his phone because he bought new one.
Now in your case, if the battery is already not working well and can't be changed for new, then I think you have good reason to buy a new one.

Yes, I am also considering those cheaper brands but I am not sure if they are durable that could also last for about 5 years or longer.

I used to like phones with keyboards too. But right now, I will buy another with a touchscreen. It is easier to type onscreen.

@paigea hmmmm okay. But I think you have to try it too. When you type on the screen, you will use lesser pressure, making it easier to type.

I bought myself a new phone last September 19th with the CM flare, worth P2k+ (less than 3K), and this is dual sim. It is slick, and it is just enough for my budget. this is my own and not a hand me down by my big brother.

@brokenbee you know the CM tablet that we bought 2 years ago where we brought the unit back to the store and it took us 4 months to wait for replacement? That Fusion Bolt? that unit was phased out and the superion is still functioning well. we play the soda in that tablet, and I open that too when I wake up every morning.

@ridingbet yes Ate, that Fusion Bolt of mine is just collecting dust now.
I could have replaced it before but I knew they don't have other stocks. That's the bad thing of just having rebranded units. They are not the ones who manufacture the units.
But they have nice units with great features at lower prices than their branded counterparts.
I am thinking of waiting for Nokia to finally produce smartphones once again. I really hope they are coming back with a surprise. From the news updates, 2016 is the year they can start to produce again. Yay!!!

Those offers from CM really attract me. I am thinking of buying from them but with my experience with their tablet a few years ago, I am having doubts of getting one. But my brother also had one CM phone and it is working perfectly.
I am still soooo undecided. Ahihi decisions decisions... lol

I usually get a new phone every 2-3 years. It used to be because I got a new one and signed a new contract. Now I pay for the phone and don't have a contract. It's cheaper with my provider that way. I've had my current phone almost a year and a half.

Yes, I think the phones come at a lower price when you get it with a plan but here, they have lots of requirements before you can avail one so I just have to buy a phone without a contract.

The few times I changed my phone, it was either it got stolen, got broken, or my hubby gave me a new phone. The one I'm using for calls and text is about 4 years old now, which I bought when my original phone got stolen. Hubby gave me a newer model that has better photo quality and upgraded Android last year. I'm using both because I can't let go of my old phone. It's still working anyway.

I change my phone every 2 years, and I always hand my phone down to my parents or boyfriend since they do not mind.
What kind of phone are you looking to upgrade to?

Just a mid range smartphone that has a good camera, has a big built in memory and big battery capacity. And something that is not too pricey.

I don't change phones unless something starts not working properly. We don't have the money to replace them often.

@brokenbee My battery is giving me issues as well lately-not holding a charge at all. I hate having to buy another one so I am putting it off for now.

Yup, I don't change mine too that often. My phone is still working but sometimes, it annoys me when the battery drains too fast especially when I am out of the house. I might just buy a powerbank. Hihi
