Do you ever find yourself obsessed with something? Obsession can be short lived, or it can lead to creepy stalking ex-boyfriends. Lately I've been obsessed with something, and I want to draw my husband into my obsession with me. My obsession isn't the creepy type though. It started one morning when I was cooking eggs. I thought about having chickens again. That tought kind of snowballed, and now I'm obsessed with the idea of somehow getting my hands on some land outside of the city and having a small "homestead." Unfortunately when I mention the word "homestead" to my husband he pictures something like "Little House on the Prairie." I can't convince him that its not the same as the old west. That he can keep his luxuries. That homesteading is a lifestyle, that its trying to be more sufficient but he doesn't have to go competely off grid. So far I've not been able to sway him to my way of thinking.

That sounds nice, that is a good obsession hopeful you will get it. I have always wanted a small spiritual shop. I can't get it out of my head.

That sounds like a good obession to have too! And maybe even easier to accomplish than my dream of trying to homestead.

@nonersays I have been working on it for the past 10 years but I know someday I will find a way. It's really the start up money that is in the way. But, I have been a lot of research and I have a few ideas I am thinking about.

As for me, I am more obsessed in actively participating in this site. I can't stop reading all the brilliant ideas shared by myLotters. Thanks for sharing your obsession into something. Of course, stalking someone is the downside of being obsessed.

Mylot is another one of the more harmless obsessions, and one that could be profitable in the end.

@nonersays I do agree on that. We could share things and be obsessed over something.

You can tell him that you have a surprise trip for him on one of the long weekends. You can just drive him to the places that you wish to stay, and you can stay in a motel there. Take it as a short trip, a kind of staycation. When he sees how others are living in those modern homestead, he may change his mind.
