Why do you think Eve ate the forbidden fruit? What did she think she was going to gain? Let's look at the clue: * "You will be like God." In what way would she be like God by eating the forbidden fruit?

Eve was deceived. Satan knew she has pride and innate love for herself and so just as Satan's pride caused his downfall, he also used Eve's pride to deceive and make her commit the first sin ever.

Yes, she was deceived into believing that she would be better off by disobeying God. Well, that didn't happen!
