How much police presence is in your town?

I am on a crime kick with discussions tonight. It's always been interesting to me. Police presence is something that astounds me. It seems like in my urban neighborhood, the only time police are really patrolling A LOT is during bar close time. Otherwise, I barely ever see police or even hear sirens. It seems like there isn't ENOUGH patrol during the day or early evening. I wonder to myself.....where are they all? What is the police presence like where you live?
