Have You Ever Found A Stash of Money?

A friend of mine, was cleaning out a closet in a house that was owned by a relative. The house, including all contents, had been given to her in the relative’s will.
The money was obviously a collection of old coins, some very old coins. She was more than surprised. She was overwhelmed as she learned of the possible value of these coins.
I once found a bank envelope in a parking lot, that had been ran over many times until the envelope was mostly destroyed. It was pouring down the rain and I was looking down to avoid puddles, as I ran to my car. I just happened to see it and grabbed it up before jumping into my car.
When I counted the money, it was $180, in twenty dollar bills. I immediately looked for a name, an account number or something that would give me a clue as to who it might belong. But, there was nothing.
Not even the name of the bank. I would have given it back to the owner, if I could have, because I was thinking that it was probably someone’s paycheck, that they had just cashed. I thought about how devastated that person would be, who had worked all week and now had no money to buy groceries or pay their light bill. I wasn’t sure what to do. It was an impossible situation. Sadly, I never did find the owner.
Have you ever found money?

This has never happened to me. There are instances here in my country where in a taxi driver would return a suitcase full of money left by a passenger. If this would ever happen to me and find no claimant at all then i would donate some of the money to charity or perhaps build a structure that would benefit our whole community.

Yes, the best thing to do is to donate to a worthy cause, which is what I do.
