January 28th marked the thirtieth anniversary of the Space Shuttle Challenger explosion. What a tragedy! I was in my third grade class watching the launch live on TV when the shuttle burst into flames right before our eyes. My teacher cried. Do you remember where you were when the Challenger exploded? What were you doing? Thank you for sharing!

Yes it was very sad. I remember the nasa announcer who had a job to do and announced the failure professionally but to me it sounded so cold. At a time when it looked like space travel was becoming routine it sure opened peoples eyes to see that it was still very dangerous.
