Worst job ever

My worst job was working at an answering service for funeral directors. Besides the obvious downside, dealing with callers who are stressed and grief stricken, the directors themselves were very demanding. We had a script that we had to adhere to no matter what the circumstances and managers were always listening in on your calls and critiquing you. And, unfortunately, there was a lot of pettiness from co-workers, bilingual representatives looked down on the rest of us, competition for better positions (like handling alarm company calls) and it was just plain nuts sometimes. I lasted a little over a year full-time, then six months part-time.

I would find being empathetic with the grief stricken customers difficult.

It could be draining, but actually I found the work environment the most wearing. All that micromanaging was stressful.

I'm surprised that you lasted that long.

It was during a strange and strained employment time for me. I hung with it until I found something better. The part time position was only on Saturdays which wasn't bad.

The worst job I had was working in a fast food place. The manager was a snob, the place was nasty, and of course there are always "those" customers.

If I really not happy with the job, I just resigned and find another one. It will affect my total performance at work if not happy of what I am doing.

That doesn't sound like a very enjoyable job, and not one I would care to be involved in

Not my kind of job. I wouldn't have lasted that long.
