A Person Stops Singing Because Of…

… stage fright. This is a true experience of my high school friend. In our batch, he possesses a golden voice. It was a like he had engulfed the microphone in his throat. The clarity of words come out from his vocal chord is so natural. After a few months, he suddenly stopped singing. A lot of people are trying to ask why he acted so strange. He never gave any explanations about it. As his closest friend, I attempted to talk with him and he managed to say the real reason. The leader of the school’s choir asked him to perform solo in front of the churchgoers and admitted he has a stage fright. That’s the reason why he didn’t go with the rest of choir members. With the trust he had given me, I helped him out to boost his confidence without noticing it. I started to let him join some activities at school and let him socialize with the other students. At long last, he started to believe in himself and sing with full confidence. Do you have any experience like this? Did you overcome the stage fright?

Well yeah I'm scared of performing at stage.Like we people have presentations and speeches in the college so it's like I tend to get damn scared and nervous when I have to deliver a speech or something of that sort.I had tried to overcome my fear but I'm not been successful yet.

@Analyst001 That's a good statement my friend. I do agree that a leader can also a follower. It should be balance.

I can relate to your friends stage fright. There was an instance wherein our community choir had to perform with other choirs in a mini church concert. Minutes before our performance i felt like going home and just hide in a dark corner but i had to shake the feeling off and act brave enough to take on the chalenge otherwise be called a coward and a failure.

@mammots I know what's coming from. I was also like my friend. I was too shy to do some performance on the stage. However, I also overcame that. It is about time for him to boost his confidence with my assistance and support.

In my case I think everyone would walk out and that would be a good reason to stop singing! lol! I'm not a singer but I have spoken in public many times and in the beginning I knew all about stage fright. I have to congratulate you on helping your friend overcome his low self esteem. You did will. Blessings.

@Pose123 I guess there is no one going to do it. He is my friend and I should do things for a friend to overcome such fear. During my high school days, I never speak in the classroom even in a class recitation. However, I realized that if I stay timid then nothing will happen to me. Now, I had developed in communication skills in different languages. Not even our valedictorian in high school can do it.

I too have the same problem. But that is not the way to deal with it. Advice your friend to face more challenges like this than running away from it. Then only we can overcome that fear. I hope your friend will be back on stage.

this is also my problem with my youngest son, he sings very well, he does not have stage fright but he does not like to show he's talent, he only sings in from of the computer and at times i could not tell if it's the computer or him singing, I'm still thinking of ways to encourage him to bring it out perhaps gradually till he has confidence, even the teachers do not know he sings till they hear him and ask me if he can join the programs, yes gradually I think he's coming out.
