There is a village that they imposed an ordinance about letting the pigs in the fence. It is unusual for me to live in the city and stray cats or dogs are not allowed on the street. But this village in Cordillera area of the Philippines had this ordinance that strictly need to abide by the local villagers. I thought it is just a propaganda of such villagers to implement. When I visited the area, I had seen that wild pigs are roaming around the area. However, this ordinance is limited its power for the wild pigs living in the mountainside. It is only applicable for the villagers who live near the main street of the village.

Pigs can get aggressive sometimes, especially if their owner mishandles them. An adult pig can knock off a human with a single charge.

@Tierreisze The wild pigs are smaller compared to domestic white pigs. I do think not only in the village, the ordinance should be applicable to provinces in our country.

@Tierkreisze They are not that wild as you think my friend. I had stayed in the village for almost a year. They are being catered by the villagers. The ordinance is being carried out in barangay level. It doesn't need to go to the higher ups. It is the option of the barangay officials.

@Shavkat I think they're stronger though, as their muscles are more developed for living in the wild. And yes, they should do it on a much larger scale. Perhaps our lawmakers are still studying if passing that ordinance would be beneficial or not.

Your ordinance reminds me of the lady who got upset when she saw the deer crossing sign by the highway and complained to her husband that the sign would do no good as deer cannot read. How will the village convince the wild pigs to obey the ordinance?

@DWDavis It seems the wife has a point. The wild pigs are being controlled by putting them within the fences. The ordinance is carried out by the local people to have fences in their residents especially if they are catering wild pigs.

@aju007 The main reason why they imposed this is to make their surroundings clean. Since stray pigs had their waste within the land area.
