The Carolina Panthers Lost the Super Bowl

United States

First, let me say that this is my 400th post on MyLot, so another milestone for me. We had a great time at my son's Super Bowl party this evening. I made 50 pepperoni rolls and there are none left. There was also a LOT of other food. The meatballs were delicious and my granddaughter brought a really tasty dessert. Even though most of us were wanting the Panthers to win, the Broncos defensive team was unstoppable, and it was a great win for Peyton Manning. He hit several lifetime goals, which I thought was nice for him. I also enjoyed seeing so many of the older players who had played in past Super Bowls. It was very nice to see them looking well. For those of us who like football and the Super Bowl, it was a good game not withstanding all the usual fumbles and interceptions and take overs, etc.

We didn't take advantage of turnovers and made too many. We're a young team, we play with a lot of joy and we're hungry. Though we lost we'll come back stronger and better. Happy to see Peyton get one more ring before his retirement. They played a better game and deserve that win.

It was a very good game. I enjoyed watching it. You said "we" didn't take advantage. Are you from NC? My oldest son lives in Winston-Salem. I used to live there myself. He was disappointed, of course.

You know I'm crying @IreneVincent but still, Peyton is an outstanding player and I'm happy for the Broncos.

Yeah. I'm not really a "fan"atic when it comes to sports teams. Both teams were the best in their "LEAGUE." So one team had to win and one team had to lose. I loved watching the plays and the fumbles and there was some angry outbursts too. Those I didn't like. Poor sportsmanship showed up too with facemask violations and "holding." I married the captain of his high school football team and with three brothers and four sons, I've watched a LOT of football over the years AND I know the rules.

@IreneVincent Did you see the look on Eli Mannings face when the Broncos won? It was like he was pissed off. You would have thought he would have been happy for his brother. Cam didn't play worth a flip. I could understand the frustration on the part of the Panthers, but still, violations don't solve the problem. My Dad was a huge football fan and since he treated me like a boy, that's where I get my love for football. I can see how you would fall into the mix.

@nanette64 Yes, I saw the look on his face and the comment that was made about it. And yes, my being surrounded by the "male of the species" all my life, made being a football fan inevitable. I do enjoy it, though

I agree with you that it was a great game to watch. Payton did do a great job as a quarterback, and the Broncos' defense was pretty good also. I too was also glad to see the old football players who had played in the past Super Bowls, and it made me smile when I seen Roger Stallback come out. On the Payton Manning note, there after the game, when they presented the trophy to the coach of Denver Broncos, Payton Manning got to say a few words to the viewers that was watching. One thing that got my attention was the fact where he said, and I quote, "And I am thankful for the Man upstairs to giving me all of this". This made me feel great inside, to know that Payton does believe in God. God is a big part of my life, and when I hear a star athlete, I praise them highly.

@IreneVincent that's cool that there's another town called church hill. No, we don't really have any historical events here. But when u go to the next town which is kingsport they do have some historical events and ghost events also

@danny1971 I've been to Kingsport, Tennessee. It was a VERY long time ago. 1957 in fact. I remember as we were driving into Kingsport, we had the windows in the car down, because it was summer and I said: "What is that smell?" I found out later that the smell was coming from the Kodak plant there in Kingsport. I don't know if its still there or not, since photography has changed so much since then. We also stayed a week at a Timeshare resort in Crossville, Tennessee, up on the plateau on a different trip. That was probably around 1986.. Every day we took a different direction. First, South to Chattanooga. Loved that city and Lookout Mountain. Rode the Incline railway to the top. Second day we went East to Oak Ridge and visited the Science Museum there. Then we went West to Nashville on Wednesday and north to a winery and had dinner there in a German restaurant. The Great Smokie Mountains are beautiful and it was late December, with snow on the ground.

I'm glad you and your family could enjoy your Superbowl party, even though your team didn't win. That's more than I could do!

You didn't get to see the game?? We had a great time, just being together as a family and enjoying the game too.
