A report from the Indianapolis Star newspaper on Wednesday says the Indianapolis Colts are "likely" to release wide receiver Andre Johnson before the start of free agency in March.
Johnson signed a three year $21 million dollar contract as a free agent with the Indianapolis Colts in 2015 after the Houston Texans released him at the end of the 2014 football season.
The Colts will be saving $5 million dollars by releasing the 34 year wide receiver who caught 41 passes for 503 yards and scored four touchdowns during the 2015 football season.
Since the Colts failed to make the playoffs this year, the Colts management feels that they can use the money they will save by releasing Johnson before the start of the free agency period that begins in March so they can acquire a replacement receiver on their team before the start of the 2016 football season.
Johnson was a first round draft choice of the Houston Texans in the 2003 National Football League Draft out of the University of Miami in Florida.

I have never commented on football posts because I don't like the game in case you ever wondered why I always like your baseball news and never comment on football. You don't follow basketball? I don't recall you ever posting on basketball.
