What makes people think about adultery? In religious doctrine, you committed a crime and obviously, violated one of the 10 Commandments of God. In some way, the state law has the same due process to file a crime case. Thus, it is still a stigma to outcast the people who are engage to this immorality issue.
In the context of immorality, women are commonly condemned of committing such a crime. The imperfect world instantly outcast the women, seemingly unfair. Why? Man is not targeted with such unacceptable act in the eyes of God and people. Since man is always tagged as polygamous in nature, whatever the reason, women are intentionally in the downside of the situation.
Without taking any sides, both gender should take the consequences of having an overrated adultery in the society. I just don't get the logic at first, not until I had seen the legal wife took the chance of taking her defense against the husband, a neighbor whom I thought was legally been together as a happy couple. It created a scandal that left me hanging about what is the term for man lover. Since the common word for woman committed a crime is mistress, how about in male population?
A quick search for the male adulterer is named as manstress, boy toy, gigolo or paramour. It sounds good to me, but beyond the given words connote differently. For some reason, the equality needs to be imposed. If both gender continues to drown themselves into forbidden relationships, then both should be condemned and take the necessary options to make it right.
