I hate to wake up and go to work on a stormy Monday morning.
That is the time when my mood is as black as the sky.
I hate it more because I realize that this is the power of money getting a hold on me.
If not for the sake of making money, I will stay home and sleep.
I know that the large workforce is working for the common good of the people, yet I know that nobody works as an employee because they like to work.
They have to work because they have under the bondage of the power of money.
As the government is talking about longer lifespan, and it wants to increase retirement age, I really think that 50 or 60 years of full time employment is going to be the norm.
It is really sad to think about that. 50 years of slavery is really painful.

I will not miss work.
I have an idea about what to do after retirement.
I will volunteer in the hospital or charities.
At least it is more meaningful that just working for money, and I will get to meet a lot of people which makes life interesting.

I agree with your sentiments but I managed to save on a limited income every year of my working life. When retired our expenses should be less except medical.
Long working years is tough on employees and those running businesses can work as their stake is involved. I think each has to find comfort their way but should not work for too long - siva

Actually expenses will not be less when you are retired.
You have more time, and that means more opportunities to spend money.
When you are working, the home utility is low because you are making use of the water and electricity in the company.
When you retire, and you stay home more, you will see an increase in related living expenses.

@scheng1 For me it is less:
No new clothes especially office wear
Less transport costs
Use ceiling fan, so limited energy consumption
Home cooked food mostly
Office related expenses like partying
Medical costs are unpredictable and can increase.
Agreed, the bottom line is - how you live - siva

Money is a necessary evil,. We need it to survive. Sadly enough.
