Day 3 – Treachery
Esther 3
Everyone has enemies. Some show it without remorse and are blatantly mean and nasty anytime they are around people they dislike. Some keep it hid, and seem friendly when in fact they are thinking about how they can ruin the other person without it coming back to them. Then there are some who show it anytime the person is around, but say nothing as they give distasteful looks to those they dislike.
How King Ahasuerus came to know Haman, we have no knowledge. Nor do we know why he would place his position above all the princes of the land. However, there is one very important fact we do know about Haman. He was an Agagite.
When Israel left Egypt for the Promised Land, Balak son of Beor, sent for Baalim to curse the children of Israel. Instead, Baalim blessed Israel.
Numbers 24:5 How goodly are thy tents, O Jacob, and thy tabernacles, O Israel!
6 As the valleys are they spread forth, as gardens by the river’s side, as the trees of lign aloes which the LORD hath planted, and as cedar trees beside the waters.
7 He shall pour the water out of his buckets, and his seed shall be in many waters, and his king shall be higher than Agag, and his kingdom shall be exalted.
8 God brought him forth out of Egypt; he hath as it were the strength of a unicorn: he shall eat up the nations his enemies, and shall break their bones, and pierce them through with his arrows.
9 He couched, he lay down as a lion, and as a great lion: who shall stir him up? Blessed is he that blesses thee, and cursed is he that curses thee. (KJV)
Agag was king of the Amalekites who are the descendents of Esau, sworn enemies of Israel. When Haman found out Mordecai was a Jew and refused to bow to him, he vowed to get even with him and set a plan in motion to kill all the Jews.
As Christians, our sworn enemy is Satan. He will do whatever he can to ruin our reputations, and bring trouble our way. He will even try to have us killed. Whatever it takes to take Christians out of his way he will do it.
Just as Mordecai would not bow to Haman, we must never bow under the treachery Satan causes us. We must continue strong in our faith, looking to God our Father, and Jesus our Savior and Redeemer. He will take care of Satan, and ultimately cast him into the Lake of Fire and Brimstone where he will be for eternity.
Because we know Satan’s end, we should disregard whatever trouble he tries to bring our way, and look to Jesus to take care of him.
James 4:7 Submit yourselves therefore to God. Resist the devil, and he will flee from you. (KJV)
Haman had a plan to destroy the Jews because Mordecai would not bow before him. Satan has a plan to destroy us because we will not bow down or listen to him. Stand strong before the Lord, and He will take care of all our enemies.
Let’s pray: Father, help me stand strong in You, trusting You to take care of all my enemies. In Jesus’ name, I pray, amen.

Satan is always trying to desroy us, as he just works as hard as he can to get us to yeild to him. I refuse to uield to him, as I am for Jesus and Satan is doing what he can to keep us from standing with Jesus. When I have problems with the devil, I will tell him that in my house I only worship the Lord, and to get behind me. I do read my bible every morning, and Satan doesn't like like it, but I am going to keep going as it won't be long before Jesus comes back, and the devi knows it, as he has but a short ime. I will certainly be glad when he is destroyed, as he has caused enough headaches in this world.
