San Fransisco Giants manager Bruce Bochy on Saturday at Giants FanFest in San Fransisco has made the announcement that left handed starting pitcher Madison Bumgarner will make his third straight Opening Day pitching assignment on April 4, 2016. The Milwaukee Brewers will be hosting the San Fransisco Giants on the first game of the 2016 Major League Baseball season at their home stadium Miller Park. Bumgarner made his debut in the Major Leagues with the San Fransisco Giants in 2009. Bumgarner has three World Series rings with the 2010, 2012 and 2014 Giants World Series championship teams. Of course that event will become a reality if Bumgarner is healthy enough to make his third Opening Day start after the Giants finish their Spring training sessions at Scottsdale Arizona and the weather in Milwaukee will permit the baseball game to be played as scheduled. The Giants did not make the playoffs in 2015. The Giants should be in contention to make a playoff run in the 2016 baseball season if they are to win their fourth World Series in San Francisco and their ninth World Series title in the history of their franchise that began operations as the New York in 1883 before they became the New York Giants in 1886. The New York Giants moved to San Francisco after the end of the 1957 baseball season where they won five World Series titles in 1905, 1921, 1922, 1933 and 1954 in New York City.

I know what you mean. Barring any injury the Giants had no choice but go with the Most Valuable Player in the 2014 World Series to be their 2016 Opening Day starting pitcher.
