Jon Morosi of Fox Sports reports on Monday former Minnesota Twins right handed relief pitcher Matt Capps, 32, will be auditioning for several teams in the Major Leagues to attempt a comeback to pitch in 2016 with any team in the Major Leagues that will be needing his services on their roster.
Capps has not pitched in the Major Leagues since the 2012 Major League Baseball season when the Minnesota Twins released him on October 24, 2012.
Capps had pitched for the Criollos de Caguas of the Puerto Rican winter league in 2015. If any team in the Major Leagues decides to offer Capps a chance to pitch for their team, they will offer Capps a minor league contract as an invite to Spring training.
Capps has been battling an injury to his right shoulder that kept off the Major League Baseball rosters of the Cleveland Indians in 2013 and the Atlanta Braves in 2015.
Capps has pitched for the Pittsburgh Pirates from 2005-2009, the Washington Nationals in 2010 and the Minnesota Twins from 2010-2012.
Despite the fact that Capps is 32 years of age, he feels he can make a contribution to any team in the Major Leagues that is willing to give him a chance to pitch for their team in the 2016 baseball season.

Capps was an all-star the year he saved 42 games. If he can pitch well enough, he should catch on somewhere and make a come back. It's been done before.

You are correct. Maybe a few years away from the game has rekindled his desire to be helpful for any team in the majors that will be needing his services in 2016.
