What is the PBS Newshour Equivalent in Your Country?

This question is for non-Americans, however, Americans can chime in too. In America we have a public broadcasting service and the news program, PBS Newshour, is very reliable, honest and objective. (My opinion.) * For those who do NOT live in America, does your country have a public news program and is it possible to find it online? (Preferably live stream.) * * For those who live in America, if you don't watch the PBS Newshour, what is your news source? Do you watch on television (local or cable) OR do you extract info about current events from the Internet?
Watch PBS NewsHour videos on demand. Stream full episodes online. Millions of Americans turn to PBS for the solid, reliable reporting that has made PBS NewsHour one of the most trusted news programs in television.

I do watch PBS NewsHour, when I watch TV news. Often I get my news from the radio, (NPR). I don't think that's how most Americans get their news though.

I don't think so either. I say that because many Americans have cable TV and the news channels are endless. When we had cable TV my husband hardly ever watched anything but the business channel! It's nice to have just local channels again. Also, listening to NPR in my car is really nice and very informative.

@cmoneyspinner I have cable, but I find that watching too much news disturbs my sleep. Also, I don't like a lot of commentary with my news. Just the facts mam.

snow ball
@norcal - I agree. It can upset your peace of mind and disrupt your sleep. But as for “commentary”, I've learned to filter most of the “noise”. Although it took years to develop my technique of selective listening. The question is: Why did I have to? It's because … as you say, would be so much simpler if we just got reported facts sans commentary. Occasional commentary is nice for perspectives, views, opinions or thoughts. But an avalanche of commentary?? That's just an enormous gigantic snow ball rolling down hill.
