Yoga Plans Did Not Happen

I initially planned to sign up for yoga class. Our recreation center is offering classes every Wednesdays and Fridays, 7:00 p.m. for $15 per month. Since I already have Zumba class every Wednesdays, I can only do yoga every Friday. I am already set on taking the class when we scheduled a date night a couple of weeks ago which fell on the same time as the yoga class. When I tried to do it last Friday, we are preparing for the trip and ended up doing more chores that took as well into the night to finish. So it did not happen again. Now, my friend sort of talked me out of it. She said that it is not cost effective for paying for a month’s worth of classes when I can only be there once a week, or 4 times a month. Being a semi-cheapskate, her argument raised a valid point. And now I am in middle of doing it or not just because of the cost. The first class is always free, so I still have that. Hopefully I will be able to decide on this because the last thing I want to do is quit in something that I have started, like the cross-stitch project which I shared in a separate discussion.

I am also a semi-cheapskate, and I would always ask myself whether the money I am spending on that thing is worth the time and effort, and is it really going to make any difference in my life. As for Yoga, it really does not seem worth it, if you are only going to be there once or twice a month, and not because 15$ is a big deal, but because it's really not going to make even an iota of difference if you do Yoga twice a month. Whether you do it for the fitness, or the flexibility, or the peace of mind, if you're not doing it more often, it's pretty much useless. If you are serious about Yoga, there is always YouTube to help you out. There are hundreds of videos you could watch and do Yoga at home. Or if you want to just learn something new, be it yoga or something else, I say go for something you cannot learn for free off the internet. That's where the money could be well spent.
