Chasing Spirits is written by Nick Groff who used to be an Executive Producer, Founder, and Investigator of the Ghost Adventures Crew. He left the show late 2014. This book was published in 2012. I watch Ghost Adventures all the time. I watch the same episodes over and over again. I love the show. And I'm crazy about the head honcho Zak Bagans. I have read both of Zak's books and I have seen behind the scenes videos on YouTube. Groff's book shows a different point of view. He talks about his own personal experiences, he answers questions he has received from fans, and he has a different perspective regarding investigative techniques. In the early seasons viewers criticized Zak for constantly telling his fellow investigators to shut up. As time went on he realized how bad it looked. Groff explains that one gets caught up in the investigative process and when they hear something they don't want interruptions, which, he says, is understandable. You're not going to hear anything if everyone is talking. Groff addresses Zak's personality, which of course Zak doesn't do in his books. One thing I found annoying is that Groff continually writes about his most terrifying experience. He writes about it several times throughout the book. I don't think he needed to do that more than once, maybe twice. I enjoyed reading a different point of view on the Ghost Adventures' investigations. It was a good and quick read.
