The Pittsburgh Steelers management on Friday was informed by their tight end Heath Miller that he decided to retire from playing football in the National Football League after11 seasons. Miller was a first round draft choice of the Steelers in the 2005 National Football League Draft out of the University of Virginia. Miller played in three Super Bowls with the Pittsburgh Steelers winning two rings as a member of the 2005 and 2008 Super Bowl Steelers team that won Super Bowl XL and XLIII. Miller started 167 out of 168 regular season games with the Steelers during his 11 seasons with the team. Miller will leave the team as the team leader in touchdowns and receptions by a tight end. Miller will be remembered by the Steeler Nation as the top tight receiver of Steelers quarterback Ben Roethlisberger. Jesse James who will be entering his second season in the National Football League will likely be asked to replace Miller as the top tight end of the team. Matt Spaeth will also be asked to step up as one the tight ends of the football team after Miller decided to leave the team after 11 seasons. Miller decided to leave quietly instead of making a video like former Carolina Panthers defensive end Jared Allen riding a horse into the sunset.
