Led by vocalist Karl Hyde and keyboardist Rick Smith, Underworld is a British electronica act that has been at it since the 1980's, when Underworld was just your standard 80's alternative band (they scored a minor hit with "Underneath the Radar.") Luckily, the duo evolved into the Underworld that we know and love today.
"Pearl's Girl," from Underworld's Second Toughest in the Infants album, is, to me, possibly the best electronica song ever recorded. Musically, it is quite danceable without electronically clubbing you over the head in the way techno did, (thanks, Rick Smith and DJ Darren Emerson!) Add Hyde's stream of consciousness lyrics and it's one of my all-time favorite songs. Not just a favorite electronica song, but a favorite no matter what the genre.
The full, 9:36-min version from Second Toughest in The Infants. Enjoy! (P.S.: Crazycrazycrazycrazycrazycrazycrazycrazy)

Underworld is awesome. Best electronica group out there, as far as I'm concerned.

Not surprising, actually. Electronica is kind of a fringe genre. I think Underworld is the best of the lot, but they definitely not anywhere close to being a household name.
