A couple of years ago, I signed up for a library card at our local Library. Before I moved here, I frequent libraries, not just in our university but as well as the City Library. I like how peaceful and calm the atmosphere is. Plus I have this weird preference to the smell of old paper and glue. I know you know what I am talking about; it’s the old library book smell that has survived the years. I still remember when we have to use actual card catalogs. It took a while for the university library to be 100% computerized what with being a State University. I think it is fun to help out replace the books in the proper shelves and be guided to the right aisle through the catalog numbers. Unfortunately, I have not used my current library card. The last time I was in this town’s library was when I have to pick up a friend after passing the State Driving Exam. I still remember how the library staff congratulated me and even though I felt a little weird seeing as I am a grown up already (my driver’s license is good for use in the Philippines only), they never showed it. I need to go online later and check if my library card is still valid.
