Former Golden State Warriors forward and center David Lee who was released by the Boston Celtics on Friday has drawn interest from the Dallas Mavericks to sign him to a $2.1 million dollar contract. Lee would be eligible to sign his contract with the Dallas Mavericks once he clears waivers. Lee has played basketball in the National Basketball Association with the New York Knicks from 2005-2010, the Golden State Warriors from 2010-2015 and the Boston Celtics from 2015-2016. Lee was a first round draft choice of the New York Knicks in the 2005 National Basketball Association Draft out of the University of Florida. If the Mavericks are able to sign Lee to join their team, his role with the Mavericks will be in a reserve role behind power forward Dirk Nowitzki for the remainder of the current basketball season. Lee does have one National Basketball Association Finals ring as a member of the 2014-15 Golden State Warriors basketball team even though he paid in a reserve role that season. The Mavericks figure that Lee will provide additional depth in the forward and center position without breaking the bank to get his services for the remainder of the current basketball season.

Picking up Lee is a good move for any contender. He is still young enough and can play to contribute. He does want to start though. Lee has been a victim of circumstances. He didn't fit into GSW's scheme of things despite making major contributions against the Cavs in the finals and he was dumped on Boston who is in a youth movement.

That is true. Maybe the Mavericks can kick start his career again.
