Field Yates of ESPN.com reported on his Twitter account on Monday the Denver Broncos who will enter the 2016 football season as the defending Super Bowl champions on Monday have signed former Cleveland Browns defensive lineman Phil Taylor. Taylor was a first round draft choice of the Cleveland Browns in the 2011 National Football League Draft out of Baylor University. The irony of Taylor being signed by the Broncos is that Tom Heckert who is currently the Broncos pro personnel director was the general manager of the Cleveland Browns when Taylor was drafted by the Browns. Taylor did not play in any football games in the National Football League during the 2015 football season due to an injury to his knee that sidelined him for the entire year. Taylor, 27, if he makes the Broncos football team will likely be playing in a reserve role during the 2016 football season. It is possible that defensive lineman Malik Jackson who is currently a free agent could be leaving the Broncos to play football for another team if the Broncos management cannot reach a contract agreement to keep Jackson on the team before the start of the 2016 football season. Taylor would be basically an insurance policy for the Broncos if Jackson decides to leave the Broncos for another football team in 2016. Taylor will have the chance of kick starting his football career with the defending Super Bowl champions in 2016 after playing four seasons with the Browns from 2011-2014 which was plagued by injuries during his time with the Browns.

I don't know football so I don't know if this is good move or not for the defending champions.

The Broncos feel that Taylor with a change of scenery would be able to reach his potential as a great defensive lineman under the coaching of defensive coordinator Wade Phillips.
