why society stigmatize people wirh depression

Stigmatization is the major problem. The society tends to reject people who are not like the majority. If you have cancer, the society will sympathize you, if you have depression, society will stigmatize you

People are ignorant of the problem. They often believe a person should snap out of it. The brain is affected by it, just as any organ is affected by disease. Yes they do look down on people for it. I feel that issue as well.
