that friday feeling

United Kingdom

Here I am, sitting in Costa, cradling my skinny hazelnut latte. The world is whizzing by. Some people stroll by, their heads attached to music. Others hurry along, late for work. Costa is full of women, not a man to be seen. Even the staff are all women today. Oh, scrap that. Two young Chinese chaps just walked in. Are they tourists? Do they study at one of the many Colleges? Perhaps they're British and I'm making ridiculous assumptions based on their heritage? I don't know. I'm trying to remember if the world was different when I was younger. Did early morning workers talk to each other? Or did they have their heads buried in newspapers and books rather than a mobile phone? How did I even survive as a child, teenager and young adult, with no mobile phone and no Internet? What did I even do? There are teenagers having babies today who have never known a world without so much technology. When did I get so old?! Time to stop pondering and meander down to the riverside to meet my MiL and Baby Niece. Yay! It's Friday! Have a happy day.

Walkman's *casette tapes) ruled my first ten years of life. Kids now have tablets before they are 5!

I still have all my tapes, but nothing to play them on. *sad face*

Regular Costa tastes fine to me, none of this syrupy stuff needed. Enjoy the walk by the river.

I'm not a huge fan of coffee, but can't drink tea made by other people because I'm so peculiar. So I always opt for milky flavoured coffees when out and about. :)
