Day 1 - 2-27-16 - what we did

Well, we ate breakfast about 10 a.m. We did not eat lunch because we ate so late and had dinner about 5:30. Today we had a young man come over and help us start sorting and cleaning out the sheds. As my old friends here know, I have a shed farm in my back yard. In January of 2012 we got the newest shed when that bad roommate moved in. This is the shed we started with, in part because the roomie keeps hoping to find a particular box in it. From this shed, with "S" bringing us boxes and taking them away when we were done, we worked for a solid 4 hours. That's 4 hours of going through boxes, not counting the time it took to put things back in the shed/house/trash. We had about a pick up load of trash that he took with him. We put back a little less than that for the Kidney Garage Sale into the shed and had the rest either come in to be figured out or put back in the shed to be brought back in later. We also had 3 boxes of books/audio books to go to the library resale shop. Before I joined them outside, I also loaded and started the dishwasher, but that was only about 15 minutes. We drove the books over to the resale place right after the young man left. Now, for dinner, we were too tired to cook. I know, I know, bad start on the diet if you go out to eat the first day, but we really did okay. We went to our favorite Persian place. The roomie got steak kabob and I got a lamb kabob. We got half tablouli and half cherry rice (YUM!!!) instead of a full plateful. Even then, we only ate about half the meat and only about a quarter of the rice, maybe a third of the tabouli. I did have a piece of their wonderful bread, the roomie didn't. She had a bite of cheese that I passed on. She also ate 3 dolmas and I ate one. So, we brought home more than enough for another meal tomorrow or the next day. And since we had worked so hard, we figured we made up for any indulgence in the meal. Besides, I was starting to get the shakes from low blood sugar, so we really needed to eat. Oh, and after dinner we went and did the shopping we needed to do to get what else we needed for the diet, veggies, yogurt, etc. Still need to hit Sam's for litter and stuff, but - honestly - we're done for the day! So, this is my update on the first day of the diet.

It was pretty hard work, but mostly we were sitting. However, we didn't have drinks or anything. Happily it was a beautiful day to be outside doing things.

Dieting is a hard thing to do. When I dieted ... I kept a composition book on the dining table ... I wrote everything down in it ... I made myself accountable. I lost weight. When I stopped writing it down ... I began gaining. :)

@GrannyGee the last few times, I figured we were pretty much doomed because of the irritant in the house. She's gone now, so I think it will work.
