Another chance for love

My ex and I got back together recently after breaking up eight years ago when he was eighteen and I was twenty-three. He tracked my FB profile and asked for my number which I gave to him and we were able to have a talk again. I did spent some time with him again, talking about what happened after all these years. Turns out he's still trying to pass his license exam after graduating a few years go. He took up criminology and wanted to be a cop but success eluded him year after year with only a few points below the passing rate. He's been in and out of jobs trying to earn what he can and I guess I do like that he never quits until he reaches his dream. What I liked more is when he told me that he'll never ask for marriage until he's sure that he can give me a good enough life. We are both aware of the hard life we both grew up in and we've made up our minds that we'll do our very best to prepare for the future. There's so much for us still left to do but we just want to take things slow while we both do what we have to do for our individual goals in life. He's aware that my first priority is my son. Nowadays, I've been helping him prepare for this year's licensure exams on April. He just needs me to check some things about online application but reviewing will be on his own since he lives a few miles away from where I am. I pray that he finally passes. Even if we didn't work out, this is for his own future. We can really only hope for the best.
