Tommy Bolin was an extremely talented guitarist, good enough to replace Joe Walsh in the James Gang and Ritchie Blackmore in Deep Purple. Bolin managed just two solo albums before dying of an overdose at 25. One can only wonder what future releases, might have sounded like. While Bolin could easily move between different styles, his forte was funk rock, and it didn't get any better than his epic jam "Post Toastee," from his second album, Private Eyes. "Post Toastee" checks in at nine-minutes-plus, allowing time for two acid guitar solo's and a sweet, jazzy interlude. Check it out:
