A report from ESPN.com reporter Mike Triplett on Monday reported the news that the New Orleans Saints have released wide receiver Marques Colston.
Colston is now a free agent that can seek employment with another football team in the National Football League that could use the services of the 32 year old wide receiver that is team record holder for touchdowns scored with 72, receiving yards with 9.759 and pass catches with 711 during his ten years with the team.
The Saints will save paying Colston his 3.2 million dollar salary since it is possible that the money they save from paying Colston will be used to have their quarterback Drew Brees, 37 to a contract extension.
Colston did not play in the last two games of the 2015 football season due to a chest injury which may been a factor of the team releasing one of the most popular football players on their team.
Brandon Coleman will likely replace Colston as one their top three wide receivers along with Brandin Cooks and Willie Snead in the 2016 football season.
