Vertical reporter Shams Charania on Thursday reported the news that former Houston Rockets guard Ty Lawson, 28, who was released by the team on Tuesday has reached an agreement to play basketball for the Indiana Pacers. Lawson will report to the Pacers on Saturday to serve as the backup guard to Pacers starting guard George Hill. The Pacers are expected to release forward Chase Budinger to make room for Lawson on their roster according to sources in the National Basketball Association. Lawson started his basketball career with the Denver Nuggets in 2009. Lawson has played basketball in the National Basketball Association with the Denver Nuggets from 2009-2015, the Houston Rockets from 2015-16 and now the Indiana Pacers 2016 to the present. It remains to be seen if the Pacers are able to make Lawson reach his full potential as a basketball player or he will be seen a failure playing basketball in the National Basketball Association after the Rockets waived him last Tuesday.

I figured Lawson would be quickly snatched up. The Pacers roll the dice he'll get his act together. What happened to Chase Budinger? Never got over injury as he was promising once.

Maybe a change of teams will do Lawson some good.
