Earnings Being Shown on myLot ...

Gloria Faye Brown Bates/aka Granny Gee voicing her Gloria Opinion ...

I don't know really ... if I would want the earnings to be shown ... not shown. I would love to hear the ... pros and cons ... of doing do, not doing so. For now, I don't see how it could benefit anyone ... excepting to cause jealousy, anger ... it's easy to do that when a lot of people write in one place. You will begin to see the very ones who ... sit and watch ... they will focus on that instead of doing like always ... enjoying their writing. They will instead ... have a new thing to focus on here. Then the negative remarks will begin ... they would serve only to tear down what's been built up over years as a good thing. As for me, I am going to be a very small earner as I see it would take forever to earn a 'big' sum of money. I am just glad to come here to make new friends, and do what I love best ... write, interact with others. If it makes a few cents ... I don't mind at all. Reality is that it won't ever be a lot of money ... how could it be? I don't have the time to write so much 'just to make a small earnings'. I do the next best thing ... I write and when I earn money (I forget to even look at what's earned when I come here) ... that's okay. I love surprises. The main thing for me ... is having friends, sharing thoughts ... and being like a river ... my words like water ... having another place to let them flow. I can't hold them in. The 'frosting on the cake' for me is ... not the pennies earned ... but, the people who 'speak' to me. When you write, make others want to reach out to you to say something/anything ... have you ever stopped, thought .... oh my! my words ... me ... made someone want to speak back? Not only that... Have you thought about ... what an honor that is? Some people may take for granted each day that certain ones are going to come by, read them ... speak every time. I can't take anything for granted in my life. So know ... when you speak to me ... I think you are 'doing something very special' ... and I'm honored. It brings a smile to my face ... and wind under my feet ... that's happiness that I made ... contact with you! Thank you @sugartoes ... Gayle ... for staying on me to come here. It does make life happier for me to 'have a place to go', take my mind off the stress in my life at this time. I pure love it here. You are right ! As for the earnings being shown ... I will say I'm here, my opinion isn't going to be but, one opinion ... but, it is mine to add with the others ... it's my Gloria Opinion. I always have one ... I know you will respect mine as ... I respect yours. I won't argue with anyone at all ... but, I would love to hear the pros, cons. So, for now until I see something to change my mind (I'm open-minded) ... I don't think earnings should be shown. I would love to read your reasons of why? why not?

I don't think it is anyone else's business how much I earn on here or anywhere else. Earnings are private information. I am against.

I still have my Gloria Opinion after reading all ... I'm not for it. To please everyone ... I liked what @sugartoes said about option ... having the option to show ... the option to not show. That way everyone can be happy. :)

@sugartoes I think having choices makes it better. I do agree with you. Now, I'm for choices/options :)

I am against. Whenever it comes to any kind of earnings from your wage at a job to here, that is private business of no concern to anyone else. Plenty of people here volunteer their numbers so others can get a jist of what is possible.

That's what I feel so far. I would have to be convinced otherwise ... that's why I'm so curious to see if anyone comes up with something to sway my Gloria Opinion I always like to look at all sides. Right this moment, I agree with you wholeheartedly.

I agree that revealing specifics (unless a friend or student asks me a question like, "Which is more lucrative--clinical work with poor kids or teaching at the College?") is vulgar.

My earnings are never going to excite or amaze anyone so I personally don't care one way or another. I do like being able to see what sort of interactions other members have compiled but I have no interest in knowing how much anyone has earned. I've never read an earnings (yawn) post either and I never will. Not really sure what the point of it was Gloria - that's not really why we're here, is it?

I sure hope that's not why we're here!

I replied to another question on here yesterday about this same subject. I am against it too. I stated in the other comment I left, that companies do not like employees to tell each other their salaries. I do not see any benefit in other people knowing how much I do or do not make.

Sadly, the tendency of companies to discourage employees discussing salaries can serve to hide racial, gender, etc. discrimination.

I don't even see the reason why it should be shown. I think what I earn is my business and no one elses.

I'm with you. I enjoy coming on here, reading others posts and liking them and commenting on them. I don't want to know what you make nor should you care what I make. This is a place for friends to come and interact with one another, nothing more nothing less. It seems as if by placing for all to see what I make, they are attempting to push me into writing more and that won't happen. I write only when I feel like it. I mostly enjoy reading others posts and commenting on them. Have a blessed day

I'm on the fence about this but my inclination is to say I see no reason not to show the earning as it might give others the incentive to respond more and make more discussions. Just my thoughts on this.

Exactly ... I know it isn't mine. If I see someone's earnings I will look out of curiosity ... then, compare it with mine. :) I'm just telling the truth :) I'm just a human :)

At this very moment, I agree with you 100 %, Marlina. I hope to see lots of opinions .... and I wonder if any could possibly persuade me to change my ... Gloria Opinion I can't imagine what could. I loved what @JohnRoberts said, and agree with him.

if they do it - it will be optional, you won't have to have it displayed if you don't want.

Yes, that's good that there will be a choice. The more I've thought about it ... it isn't a big deal. Mine won't ever be a big amount. :)

I don't mind chatting about earnings ebbing and flowing. But I find talking specifics ("I have already made $16.72 this month!") to be a bit vulgar.

Hi there, I'm still new here but I feel the need to respond. Earnings being shown should not in any way spark any jealousy, not here or anywhere for that matter.When/if earnings are shown and l feel wow that should have been me, then l have a choice to start doing what the person did and only try and do it better or sit around and wish. Anyone sitting around feeling jealous of what someone else has achieved and does nothing to make better is immature, my opinion. To me if earnings are shown, it will help show others that there is money to be made if you work at it. But, that does not mean l prefer them shown!

I can understand that ... if they do show ... I will look ... yes, I will look if it's put out there. I still don't think I'd want my little earnings to show :)
