For What Should We Pray?

For What Should We Pray? I am writing this post for those who really want to know the answer to that question. I do not wish to start any controversy regarding religion. So, if you are not interested in this post, by all means, feel free to skip it. If you DO decide to read this post… Do not take MY WORD for the truth of the matter. You MUST read the scriptures from your own Bible. If you do not have a Bible, you can read the Bible in your own language at this web site: You may not BE a Bible reader. Perhaps you follow another Holy Book and have no interest in what the Bible says. If so, you may not be interested in reading this post. However, the primary reason that people who claim to be Christians, believe so many different things is that they don’t take the time to read the Bible for themselves. They let someone else tell them what the Bible says and most of those persons have not read the Bible either. They believe what someone else told them. So many FALSE ideas have been floating around for centuries. The TRUTH is in the Bible and the Bible says that “each of us will render an account for himself to God.” (Romans 14:12) So, please do not depend on someone else to tell you what the Bible says. Read it for yourself. Make sure of what it says, because your very life depends on it. The Bible is NOT out of date, nor has it been altered, as some critics claim. It has been protected by God himself. He had it written by men who were INSPIRED to write what HE wanted us to know. The Bible tells us what we need to know to survive in this wicked world and it also tells us what the future holds for the righteous and the unrighteous. It is HIS message to those who are living NOW in these “last days.” 1 Corinthians 10:11; 2 Timothy 3:16; 1 Peter 1:19-21: Proverbs 3:5,6 Jesus is the one who told us what to pray for and gave us a model prayer at Matthew 6:9, 10. Most people call this the “Lord’s Prayer” and they have repeated it many time, verbatim, but that is NOT what Jesus meant for us to do. He was actually telling us the PROPER THINGS for which to pray. What did HE mention first? “Let your name be sanctified.” Or “Hallowed be thy name.” Gods’ name has been erased from many Bible translations, even though, in the original Hebrew Scriptures, it was in the Bible over 7000 times. Jesus made God’s name, which is JEHOVAH, known. (John 17:6, 26; John 5:43; John 12:12, 13, 28; Psalm 83:18) If you do not see that name in your Bible, look for the word, LORD, in capital letters. This word replaces Jehovah’s name in many modern translations of the Bible. Many people do not know that God has a personal name and have not seen it in their Bible. But, do some research on that name and you will learn many things. The next thing that Jesus said to pray for was for God’s Kingdom to come and for HIS will to take place ON EARTH. This Kingdom with Christ Jesus as King was promised from ancient times (Isaiah 9:6, 7; Daniel 2:44.) After Jesus was resurrected, he sat down at the right hand of God and waited. (Hebrews 10:12, 13; Psalm 110:1) But, God has a time table, in which HE decides what happens next and when. We must wait patiently and continue to pray for HIS will to be done. But, God is also patient with us. 2 Peter 3:9 Ask yourself this: If God had acted 100 years ago, where would you be? I know I would never have been born. So, be happy that you are alive today and have an opportunity to live under this Kingdom rule, which is still in the future. This is NOT a fairy tale. The Bible contains a “sacred secret” and we need to know what that is. When I learned about it, and what it means for mankind, I was so happy. Do you want to know what this “sacred secret” is? Do you want to live under the rule of Jesus Christ, who gave his life for YOU? Human governments will disappear under that rule. (Daniel 2:44) Place your trust in God’s Kingdom for which you may have prayed many times in the past, if you ever repeated the “Lord’s Prayer.” What else did Jesus tell us to pray for? Stay tuned.

a prayer need not be lengthy because God already know what we want before we think of it. then there's the Lord's prayer "Our Father.."

Not everyone knows how important it is to keep contact with our Creator and Heavenly Father, but if we do, we will find out what a loving and caring person he is. Jesus taught us to pray for sanctification of God's name, that his Kingdom will come and his will be done, both in heaven and on earth. We really need his Kingdom to come and take away all wickedness from earth.
