I wonder if planting Saint Augustine grass squares in February is okay.

The contractor placed about 15 squares of yellow looking, apparently dead or dormant St. Augustine grass on the lawn where new top soil was placed to cover up a trench created by having a wrecked pick up truck pulled from the front lawn in Late January or early February. I have watered the grass at least once every 2 weeks and we had a good rain last week. Today as I watered the lawn, especially the St. Augustine, I noticed very little green within it. Is this going to come alive or will I end up having to replace all of these squares of yellow grass next month?

I don't have any answer for you as I don't know that grass but here we can't put down any grass yet as we still are to cold.

I have to say I have no clue either. I trust the general contractor knew what he was doing or he was taking a chance we would not have a frost. So far Dallas has had no freeze since the day he placed them down.
