I find that hearing protection is best when mowing grass.

There are many choices for hearing protection. I prefer the ones that you use at the firing range! When you are focused on the target you surely don't need the loudness, just a nice fit that's comfortable so you can keep your eye on the bull's eye.

At the city I work for, we require all of our park maintenance workers to wear both eye protection and hearing protection when they are mowing, trimming or edging. We certainly don't want any of them to lose their hearing or eyesight from loud equipment!

But I see many residents here in Dallas, mowing their own lawns with neither eye nor hearing protection.

@lookatdesktop I guess that's no worse than going to loud rock n roll concerts without any hearing protection! I did a lot of that in my younger days!
