Those movies you know by heart.

I went down to eat something and then I decided to take a small nap. Days are very different when Leticia is not here and she went last week to have a big dental fixing out of town. I idly turned on the TV and there it was, Pretty Woman just starting. I thought I would sleep well with that on as I know by heart everything even before that movie was made. After all it IS the Cinderella story. But I got sticked on the movie. I specially love the "Fairy Godmother" character, in this case the hotel manager. I did not have a nap. I concede it is not what I would call a very cultivated film made for small witty audiences. It is corny and predictable and completly awesome I love to see sometimes those films when there is clearly a prince and a princess even though here the princess was a prostitute. Do you like to see these kind of films once in a while?

Pretty Woman is a very well made film in its kind. Who would not fall in love with Richard Gere and, for the men here, with Julia Roberts?

Its not the story but the screenplay that hooks me on to the movie, so no matter if I already know the story, if it is engaging enough I can watch it.

It is very difficult to make a perfect film with a story we all know. But here it has been done

There are so many of them. There is two from Indian Bollywood - One that goes by the name - Dilwale Dulhania Le Jayenge - It released in 1995. I have seen it more than a 100 times, I remember almost each and every dialoge line by line. Still, whenever it comes up on tele and I am lucky to be around to watch it (we do not have a tele at my home, so it is mostly when I am at my dad's place), I ensure that I watch it all over again. The other is Zindagi Na Milegi Dobara - It is about 3 friends who are out on a bachelor trip and have a plan of attempting something to get rid of fears. I always feel, it is more about celebrating life than the story of 3 friends. For some of the English movies - I still love Mrs DoubtFire - (Robin Williams unmatched and just so very awesome in this one + the story sounds so very familiar). Then there is Angel's Sing - I saw this quite late, but the story had me. I would love watching it all over again.

Just a couple of days ago I saw an indian movie (I don´t get many of them here) called Slumdog Millionaire. The film is terrible and beautiful. I would recomend it to everyone.

@marguicha Yes, that was one of the movies which got us an Oscar too for its score. I still remember one scene from that movie which to me was horrifying - the beggar and the kid. I still get goosebumps as I type this remembering how painful it was to watch it.

It is fun! I even love to see the dresses. Very much Cinderella type. From rags to riches, the character learned to eat well in a second. I wish I could teach that to my grandchildren.

I remember pretty woman, it was one of those feel good movies that are fun to watch. I've seen it twice before but I probably will not see it again. it's good though. My favorite movie of all time is "Eternal Sunshine of the Spotless Mind" for romance, that is.

If I've seen a film once I don't want to watch it again. I've never seen Pretty Woman.

There are some films that I would watch once in a while. I´m planing to get some of the Charlie Chaplin movies to watch. And I watch Casablanca every 5 or 6 years.
