Birthday Celebrations In The Midst of a Sneeze...

I don't mind turning another year older. I don't even mind the odd bit of grey setting in. But what I do mind is my forgetfulness of not hiding my date of birth on that certain social media site where everyone knows your name... This isn't going to be the "Cheers" song by any rate, incase you are wondering.
So I celebrated my birthday after 5pm after coming in from a day's work at school. The sun shone brightly outside even though there is a touch of snow on the mountains in the distance and my teaching room feels like a furnace because all the heaters are on. In the winter time the heating never comes on, so its a bit of a bonus to have any heat! I have only just got rid of my cold only to realise that after sneezing quite a lot this morning and coughing all through a meeting with my other colleagues that I might just possibly have picked up another cold. This is the joy of working in a school.
When I returned home I found my home emblazoned with "Happy Birthday" banners pinned to my front and back door to my home as well as the garage door. I just wanted to crawl into bed and hide from the world.
When the door bell rang an hour later, I was greeted with more cards and a cake that a neighbour had made. I really couldn't have asked for more! But when I signed into that social site, I had around 150 greetings from people, not least from members such as @boingboing and @garymarsh6 of whom I have been lucky to have met in person as well as a few others from review sites I am also a member of.
It is lovely to be able to enjoy a birthday if you're well enough. God help you if you're sick though! (c)Nar2/crystalvisions2016.
