How Was The Women's Day For All?

India
March 9, 2016 8:50am CST
Yesterday was the greatest day for all the women around the world. I hope everyone has celebrated it with a cause! The cause, for which the struggle started in America a century ago! I see that these days the business people are using the value of these days, offering lucrative discounts and increasing their sale! But I would like to say that there should be no sale for women's day at least, because the issues of the women are more serious than shopping garments and jewelry. Every woman should have some responsibility towards this day. She should think and do something new to change things around, instead of merely accepting what happens. But being a Feminist never means being a Man-hater; if we do that, we will commit the same mistake as the Patriarchs! I know men who have fought for the causes of women, like Raja Ram Mohan Roy, Ishwar Chandra Vidya Sagar and Swami Vivekananda. there must be others too! So, our duty is to bring an equilibrium in the systems, not to win over anyone!

I go for gender equality. It would be nice if women had their time yesterday. I heard in China, most women worked half day. It seems they really enjoyed their special day.

I was reminded that it was the international women's day by my female client early in the morning. Unfortunately I didn't have time to do something special or celebrate.

@arundhatiwriter I agree, my client was a woman and she was working all day as well! I would like to have planned something with my friends though, like a girls night out or another activity!
