To get a receipt or not?

Whenever I go grocery shopping, typically Whole Foods - I am always asked if I would like a receipt or not. I understand it's a waste of paper (environmentally) but I prefer a receipt encase I am overcharged or double charged as I have been a few times.
However, if I get only a few items and can quickly see on the screen the my total is correct - I will opt to not get a receipt.
But for the most part, I do because once I verify the receipt is accurate - I will scan my receipt on the Receipt Hog app to earn some coins and eventually enough to cash out for Amazon or PayPal. It does take quite some time, but I've cashed out a few times there and very much effortless.
Do you get a receipt? Do you often find yourself being overcharged?

Do the stores ever question if you want a receipt or not? The store I go to has an option to print upon customer request or not print. But that's great you can win some raffle promotions - have you won before?

I HATE when I go to the local grocery store. There is one guy there who just crumples up the receipt and throws it away as soon as it is printed without even asking if we want it. He does it to everyone and people have complained and he still stinking does it. I like my receipts. I have to keep them for proof of what I spend my money on since I get survivors benefits. I also do ibotta, receiptpal, checkout51, savingstar, and walmart savingscatcher. All of those I need the receipts for!

. I had Check Out & Ibotta but I hardly qualified so I gave up using those apps.

I always get a receipt as I have been often overcharged and I don't like it.

There are many who don't from observation but I agree, I like getting mine to check since I have been overcharged a few times. Without a receipt I would have not known!

Me too. If it's a few items, I won't but if I can't keep track then I will.

I don't know why I get them. I don't check them, and I either throw them away or lose them before I need them (yes, I'm not all that responsible.)
