I once played a game of chess in Austin's Barbecue while having lunch.

We ate our Austin's open sandwich burger with fries but all the while played table chess and as we did so we attracted a small audience. Attracting attention to us was not my intention so I suggested to my friend we finish the game at the park later. I did this as an experiment. I tried to play chess in class with him but the sociology teacher did not approve. You see, I was not a genius but my friend was and the teacher let him get by with it but no way it applied to your average guy, Anthony.

I dont know what it is but you are right playing chess seems to attract peoples attention when you are out in places. There were a couple guys that used to play in the homeless shelter and everyone would be quietly standing around watching including me who did not know how to play.

I hung out with my friend, the genius who liked me just because I was nice even though I was not as smart as he was, to the Dallas Chess Club and I would watch for hours and knew the basics of chess but watching them play was very fun for me. Until I accepted a challenge from a 12 year old genius who whooped my pants off in 7 moves or less.

Some people have no consideration or don't treat people equal, I use to play chess, department level when I was at the University and I almost got a failing mark on one of my subjects because I was constantly late or absent because of the conflicting schedules between practice, one professor never gave me any considerations.
When I was asked to play board 2 again for the college inter school, I turned down the offer and never played competitive chess again ( there were no computer chess yet during those times)
