Sooo I finished work at 5pm and my annual leave began - yet it's now 1:45 am and I have so far been unable to prise myself away from my laptop. Typing up staff supervisions and completing Rota's!! The sad fact it it's nice to be able to get some work done without my phone ringing every 5mins for a change - therefor being able to complete tasks without intruptions. Does anyone else struggle to switch off after work?

When I was a team leader at Pork Farm I would leave work and turn off mywork phone. I never had a problem switch off from work.

@kevin1877uk I'm a service manager in mental health - I worry about the staff teams and the clients all of the time. I talk to my staff teams daily checking everything's okay

@kevin1877uk Yes it can, my partner gets annoyed because I'm always taking phone calls exc he can't understand it. He thinks when I finish at 5 that's it. But it's not I'm responsible for the wealthfair of my clients and staff around the clock. And I'd rather take phone calls all night - than have something go wrong. Plus truth be told I don't always trust staff to just to get in with it, I like to keep informed and ensure everything is well.

@kevin1877uk Yes that's it, I guess that is one of my weaknesses to be honest. I expect everything to be done as I would do it and often find it hard to step back to accept others have different ways. I did Thankyou

I love to be free from my phone sometimes and just take a break from it.

I understand how you feel about being interrupted with the phone. It sucks! I can never my mind on what I am trying to do whenever I am being interrupted with phone.

Me! i´m a lawyer and independent worker I can hardly keep a schedule where I can supplement my other tasks, sometimes I think too much work towards giving a better future to my son for being a single mother I had to do it twice and on time. But I'm afraid, my son is growing and just wants to play with me. Which led me to an idea: I'll do my own office hours at my house, I will build a schedule and I'll put it more visible ... just so I can have control of my time as if I were my boss and enjoy solo my son.
