I always wanted my own gumball machine or soft drink machine.

If I had my own gumball machine I could earn a nickel every time a person came over and wanted a gum ball. Otherwise they would just take them out of the candy dish and not give me a nickel.
If I had my own soft drink machine, I could charge 50 cents for drinks so each time the mail man came by he might buy one. This would be nice. The mail man would get thirsty in summer and drop two quarters in and get a coke or a pepsi and that way I would at least recoup my losses.

The gumball machine might be more profitable than the drink machine. I imagine the mailman carries water or other drinks with him. The drink machine would cost a pretty penny and then keeping it full or stocked with non out of date product... you'd be putting more money into it than you'd be getting out. Now if you could put the drink machine in a place that people might be more likely to use it, than yea.

If only I had a lounge with a Jacuzzi built on to our house and had parties. But this is not realistic.

I was not being serious. Seriously, I was just thinking about it as an idea. I really wouldn't do this for real. But if was in their house and they had soda for sale I would have to buy a bottle or have nothing to drink. I have been at the receiving end of a pizza where my friend came over to share and when I reached for the crispy one at the edge, he said, Hold on. That one is mine. I almost didn't want to eat any of it and when the visit was over he left and took the rest of the pizza with him. But the pizza was good and I should have insisted he let me have that one crunchy piece at the end anyway.
